Hi Pay.com.au 👋
Let me show you the perspective I’d bring.
I’m a UX/UI designer with 4+ years’ experience designing for education, government, utilities, and mental health. From fast-paced agency projects to in-house service led organisations owning end-to-end design.
Now, I'm looking for creativity and a product I believe in, and pay.com.au feels like that place.
A bit about my experience
and what I've learned along the way…
Areas I've worked in
I’m a UX/UI Designer with 4+ years’ experience across education, government, utilities, and mental health.
Environments I've navigated
I’ve worked in fast-paced agencies and service-led organisations where constraints, legacy processes, and accessibility all shape how you design.
Important lessons learnt
My experience in these environments has taught me how to navigate ambiguity, work with what’s already there, make hard trade-offs and still deliver my best work.

Fun fact: I was a fashion designer before changing careers into UX Design!
But there is an 🐘 in the room…
No, I've not had native mobile app design experience (at least not the official kind!). I’ve designed a lot for mobile web-apps, and I know it’s not the same as native mobile. I approach design first as problem-solving, and I care about good app experiences. I use them, study them, and pay attention to the details that make them feel great. I know I can bring that same sensibility to pay.com.au.
What I do know is this: I’m curious, I learn fast, and I’m confident I can deliver great work.
Here's what I believe in
and what i'll bring to the table.
Agility 🏃♀️
No organisation or business is the same. I adapt to its context and work within constraints to deliver meaningful results.
Humility 🤲
I design with an open mind, making space for curiosity and empathy, so we can create something great together with peers and the community.
Excellence 🌟
Do something? Do it well.
How I'd approach native mobile design
by exploring pay.com.au's platform for myself…
01
I tried one of your competitors (Sniip) and its clear that onboarding sets the tone.
Since I've not designed native mobile apps in a professional capacity, I wanted to show how I'd approach re-imagining mobile experience for pay.com.au. Some due-diligence I did:
Signed up to pay.com.au platform, explored on desktop and mobile web-app
Tried looking for pay.com.au on app store (no luck)
Downloaded Sniip - signed up, not a great experience, clunky and lacks a bit of taste.
Re-thinking onboarding for pay's mobile app
I reviewed the onboarding with a mobile lens and challenged myself on how I’d approach it. Looking at other fintech apps, the first moments matter. This is where you show value and ask users for their information, so the experience needs to feel smooth and considerate.
Mapping the flow helped me see what Pay needs from users, what users expect in return, and how to order these steps in a way that feels natural on mobile. I used what I could learn from Pay’s site, with a few assumptions, to explore how the experience could create a stronger first impression.
Here's how I went with a couple of screens 👇
Nothing like a nice splash screen.
Immediately communicate value from the beginning. I'm playing with different copy here.
Capture email at the start, saves progress if someone drops off, and lets the system personalise the rest of the flow.
Create some anticipation…
Questionnaires
I'm just practicing here…
Reveal the referral code field only if the user says they have one to keep the screen light
Gotta make users feel good after all that.

I took a stab at redesigning a task into a mobile experience.
I dug through the product demo and decided to translate the “add a payee” flow into a native mobile experience.
I pulled inspiration from one of my favourite fintech apps, Wise. They’re great at making financial admin feel clear, light, and surprisingly engaging, something I think works well for this space.
Payees screen
Pop up
Broke up the 'Add a payee' modal into two parts to help compartmentalise the task.
Part 2, actually adding payee's details
Give users a chance to review and check for mistakes.

Payee added!

From a business lens, rewards need to feel clear, confident, and in control, on the go.
I started thinking about growth and retention and looked at how other rewards apps work. Most are B2C and use gamification, which doesn’t translate the same way for businesses. B2B users need clarity and useful insight to stay motivated. They want to see what they’ve earned, what’s next, and how their spend is working for them.
I officially ran out of steam, but here is an AI's version of my thoughts…

Clear visibility of points, simple insights, and personalised recommendations feel important for this experience. I’ve made a lot of assumptions along the way, but they helped me explore what the mobile app could offer.
After all that, here's what I learned
Handle transactions, not transactional experiences 🔄
The experience should feel like a real value exchange. When an app feels dull, it becomes a “use it only when you have to” tool. Pay.com.au might handle payments well, but the experience doesn’t need to feel transactional.
Provide clarity and confidence for businesses on the go 💫
Rewards need to be clear and useful in the moments users check them. A mobile app should give them quick, on-the-go insight into what they’ve earned, what’s coming next, and how their spend is working for them
B2B doesn’t need to feel dull 🍞
Most B2B apps feel dry, but users still expect the polish they see in B2C products. Pay.com.au has the chance to feel modern, clear, and enjoyable, even when the tasks are practical.
I know there’s a lot to learn in this space, and that’s exactly what excites me. I hope you enjoyed what I’ve shared. Some ideas might already be in your pipeline, some might spark something new, and some may be way off entirely. That’s the exciting part. I love sharing ideas, exploring possibilities, and getting the job done.
If this resonates, I’d love to chat.
